About Regina

I am working towards my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Yeshiva University.

Prior to this, I studied brain-behavior relationships and obtained a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Education from Columbia University. I have been a personal fitness trainer for over 10 years. I worked with clients from different cultures, backgrounds, and ages. I collaborated with my clients to set and attain goals, change mindsets and behaviors, grow their strengths, and build holistic wellness. I was also a Crisis Text counselor. I worked with youths and adults who struggled with relationship issues, overwhelm, life transitions, prejudice, finding one’s place in the world, self-harm, suicidality, depression, racism, gender, and sexual orientation.

Theory and Philosophy

You will be treated with respect and dignity. I believe that we all have within us the power to overcome obstacles, heal, and grow. We will collaborate in setting and attaining your therapeutic and life goals. We will work together in awakening your natural strengths and abilities in order to assist you in finding your authentic voice and best life.

I am here to help if you are struggling through a difficult time, finding your way as an emerging adult, wrestling with past experiences, finding your place, dealing with loss or change, building confidence and self-esteem, anything you want to work on.

In fact, I believe that therapy is not only useful when you have something wrong. It can also be a meaningful tool for the individual who wants to get to know and understand him/her/their self better. Much like going to the gym, therapy can increase strength, improve wellness, develop special skills, and build resilience.

Modalities

Each person is an individual who experiences things in a unique way. I use a culturally sensitive, person-centered lens to integrate various modalities including strength-based, Cognitive Behavioral, Adlerian, mindfulness, and holistic approaches. I value exploring past experiences and the ways in which they influence present thoughts and behaviors.

Mainly, we will work together to identify current maladaptive mindsets, thoughts, and behaviors. We will work together on strategies to replace those with strength- and wellness-based mindsets, thoughts, and behaviors. Therefore, I work through integrated modalities that best suit the needs of each individual I have the privilege to work with.

We will work together towards finding your true voice and authentic self and building a life of value and meaningful experiences.
