About Isabelle
I have a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a focus on Mental Health. I grew up in New York City as a mixed-race person, which helps me understand the challenges faced by People of Color and others. As a counselor, I listen closely, show empathy, and never judge. I use a person-centered approach to build strong relationships and see the whole person. My multicultural background helps me connect with people from many walks of life, and I am always open to learning more. I have worked with children with Autism and other behavioral challenges, and I understand the struggles families face. I also support adults of all ages with issues like depression, anxiety, grief, personality disorders, trauma, and relationship concerns. I believe everyone is unique, and I find it meaningful to help people overcome obstacles and find healthy ways to move forward in life.

I believe people have a natural ability to grow and heal when they feel safe, supported, and understood. My approach to counseling is grounded in person-centered values, where empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard guide how I connect with clients. I see the counseling relationship as a collaborative space—one where clients can explore who they are and move toward the changes they want to make.
I also integrate tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, and to develop practical skills for managing challenges. I appreciate DBT’s balance between acceptance and change—it mirrors the compassion and accountability that I strive to bring into every session.
Solution-focused techniques shape the way I highlight clients’ strengths and small victories, encouraging them to build on what’s already working in their lives. At the same time, a trauma-focused lens helps me create safety and empowerment, recognizing how past experiences can shape present struggles.
Ultimately, I see counseling as a partnership built on trust and hope. My role is not to “fix” clients but to walk alongside them as they discover their capacity for healing, resilience, and growth
